Recently in an online think tank a discussion erupted into a full on friendly debate when the topic of Good VS. Evil came up in the conversation. One think tanker seemed to indicate that Satan is keeping us from seeing god. Which is to say that he subscribed to a religious belief which included among other literature a god like figure of some sort, along with the proverbial demon like Satan fellow. He started the debate by stating: Satan wants us to realize that we cant see god, (so we think thats one of his memorable characters, because thats all we are involved in seeing objects) and since Satan is unseen as well, but he incarnates him self to us as we do wrong things. Well you can imagine the level of controversy this brought up in an otherwise meaningful scientific oriented online think tank? Another think tank member immediately shot back; Now then in your second post you seem to be stating that this evil figure which you call an actual Satan or perhaps you are using it in a more symbolic sense to mean evil; he does not want us to see god and to believe we cannot see him, right? And Satan wants us to remind ourselves we cannot see god. The second think tank debunker of this God cannot be seen and Satan is full of trickery further indicates that the so-called religious fanatic in his statement is using rather backwards logic, as we really cannot see god and then further indicates without saying so directly that there is no god by stating: Remember parents use to tell us we could not see Santa Clause deliver the gifts either. He could see us but we could not see him or so our parents told us? This creates a whole other situation as in this analogy the parents would be Satan or rather the opposite of the very good jolly old Chris Cringle you see? Oh hell I can see we are getting a live debate here now indeed. More on this in 2006. |
